I grew up in San Francisco and moved to the great Pacific Northwest a few years ago. I fell in love with the community and the beauty of all that Oregon had to offer—and I've never looked back! Love the wild amounts of waterfalls, hot springs and camping destinations there are here! Still getting used to the amount of rain though! 😅
My love language is food and music. I'm an introverted-extrovert even though I'm a Leo, and if you follow enneagrams, I'm a type 4, and I waffle between being an INFJ and an INTJ. I like to talk in emojis 😏 and lots of exclamation points (but I've really reeled it in on here 😝), don't want to scare you
off already!
I've spent a great deal of my adult career in the field of design. I've studied it, I'm still obsessed with it, and I look at it every day (not sick of it). Music and art and creating has always been in my veins. My hope is that you can feel my love and respect for the art form, flow through the art I create for you. I love the stories I get to imagine, document, and create with you. This whole thing is a partnership, and I can't do it without you. Which is where the name "Avec Vous" comes from. It means, "with you".
I also believe in a thing called love, and that love is love. And I believe that it comes in all shapes and sizes. All are welcome.
If I wasn't a designer or doing photography, my dream job would be a movie soundtrack creator/curator. My fav artists/bands are: Tamino, Muse, Radiohead, Lana Del Rey, Agnes Obel, and Enya... to name a few.
Love movies by Quentin Tarantino, Guy Ritchie, Christopher Nolan, Tim Burton, Wes Anderson, and Hiyao Miyazaki. Fav movies, everything created by those aforementioned directors, all the Harry Potter movies, anything Jane Austen-related, Home Alone 2, classic Disney animated movies, and so many more.
Shows: IT Crowd, Arrested Development, Parks and Rec, Game of Thrones, King of the Hill, Lovecraft Country, Barry, Schitt's Creek.
Food: my mom's cooking, Vietnamese claypot catfish, Korean BBQ, Mediterranean lamb shwarma, macarons, goat cheese, puffed pastry filled with baked brie and bacon (to be eaten with slices of pear), and really most dishes with cheese and/or potatoes.
I'm inspired by other creators of all fields and forms. There is no shortage of inspiration out there. For me, I love to pay attention to the feeling a created piece gives me. I obsess over movies, and I think about the color that is used, the lighting, the mood they were trying to achieve, can I smell it in my imagination? And the ones that nail it all, stick with me forever. I want my pictures to look like it was a still from a cinematic movie. I want people to be stopped in their tracks and be moved by what I capture. I'm not just taking pictures for the sake of taking pictures, because anyone can do that—I want to tell sweeping, epic stories, that make you linger. And I love that photography is a collaboration—and I'm not doing this by myself. So it's this whole dance that I get to do with others. And what comes out of it all is incredibly rewarding to me.
Yep, I will be there for it! I will capture alllll the moments! You don't even have to sweat it. Just remember to enjoy the day as much as possible, because the day will be such a blur. If you've got me in your corner though, I'm gonna take care of you. You and your partner will be my #1 priority, and I will work with your vendors to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible (even if it means playing referee for any party animals who are going a little heavy on the party aspect, LOL).
My style is mostly candid, and a little moody, but there is a good mix of posed shots as well, so you can send those pictures to your mom, your mom's mom, and Aunt Georgette. The most important thing is to capture the love and laughter that day. And all while keeping it 100 and litty on the dance floor!
No story is one and the same. Yours will be finessed to share your unique journey.
